The Mangawhai Hills development comprises approximately 218 hectares of land. The site is bounded by Tara Road, Cove Road, Old Waipu Road, and Moir Street/Road, to the west of Mangawhai Village.
The development will include large areas of residential development. Small parts of the site are planned for some limited commercial activity. Significant areas across the site are to be retained as open space or as bush area.
The site is zoned ‘Mangawhai Hills Development Area’ in the Operative Kaipara District Plan 2013. The objectives, policies and rules for this zone are found in Chapter 16B of the District Plan. Resource consents for subdivision are required under the rules in Chapter 16B.
