It is important for the Council to know how Kaipara residents feel about our performance and the way we deliver our many services and activities. One of the ways we do this is to undertake resident surveys – to look at what we do well, and where we need to make improvements.
We set ourselves performance targets for many of our services – both through our long term and our annual planning process. The survey results tell us how we are performing against these targets and inform our Annual Report each year.
We contract an independent research company, called Key Research, to conduct our resident survey. They ensure it’s done correctly, using statistically representative samples of Kaipara residents to get accurate results. Key Research carries out similar surveys for other local authorities in New Zealand.
The data collection is carried out as follows:
Wave | Data collection mailed | Data collection end date |
Wave 1 | 20 August 2024 | 20 September 2024 |
Wave 2 | 04 November 2024 | 09 December 2024 |
Wave 3 | 31 January 2025 | 14 March 2025 |
Wave 4 | 28 April 2025 | 08 June 2025 |
The survey covers services such as parks, libraries and service centres and is distributed to a wide range of people via email, letters and feedback at Council facilities Survey recipients are randomly selected from the Electoral Roll. If you are approached or contacted we encourage you to participate.
The results of previous surveys are available below.
