Rubbish

Council provides weekly kerbside rubbish bag collections in all urban centres.

Note: Where a Statutory Holiday falls on a collection day, normal rubbish collection will occur.

For rural properties, weekly collection is available, but rubbish needs to be deposited at specified collection points.

The contractor for kerbside collection in the District is Kaipara Refuse Ltd. For rubbish bags that have missed the collection time please contact them directly on (09) 439 2146.

Please have your blue rubbish bags ready for collection by 7.30am on the day rubbish is collected in your area. Bags in rural areas deposited for collection must not be deposited more than 24 hours prior to collection day.

What bags do I use?

Rubbish collection is a user pays system with blue rubbish bags currently costing $3.00.

These bags can be purchased throughout the District at most supermarkets and Council offices.

Stickered bags are not collected by Council's contractor.
