New valuations

To view the new vaulations for your property, enter your valuation number (format required is 0123456789 with no dashes or hyphens) or keyword(s) on to the form in the link below and click on search. Please note if you use your DP number as a keyword you must write it as follows: DP. 2121 - note the use of the full stop between DP and 1212. Important information: the rates figure shown is not your rates for 2015/2016, as this will be based on the Long Term Plan 2015/2025.  Council will be consulting on this document early next year (2015).  Once this document has been consulted on and adopted (June 2015), your new rates will be struck.

Rating Values reflect the value of property (excluding the chattels) as at the effective date of 1 September 2014.  They are prepared on behalf of Council by Quotable Value Limited (QV).

Three important points:

  • Owners have until 30 January 2015 to lodge objections to the new values. www.ratingvalues.co.nz
  • The valuation is only a means of levying and distributing the rates across the district.  The total amount of rates required for the district does not change as a result of the revaluation. 
  • The impact of the new valuation on an individual property's rates will depend on how the property's change in land value compares to the average change in land value for that type of property.
