World War Z by Max Brooks
Brad Pitt is to star in the movie based on this ‘oral history’ of the global zombie war....
This book got great reviews – and has great advice on how to defeat the enemy in a battle with brain-eating zombies! Creepy, fascinating, dark, and creative apocalypse fiction (well hopefully it’s fiction!?)!. Movie release date is not until June 2013 but it is getting plenty of buzz already.

On the Road by Jack Kerouac
A classic riff on the American dream, sweeping road trips, drugs, jazz, sunsets and sunrises. To be directed by mega-awesome Martin Scorsese. Asa Butterfield has been cast as the orphan, Jude Law as his father, and Sacha Baron Cohen as the villainous station inspector....a bit of a move away from his character in Borat!

The Rum Diary by Hunter S. Thompson
Johnny Depp gets involved in another Hunter S. Thompson adaptation! Hunter S. Thompson’s book chronicles the boozy adventures of an American journalist working in Puerto Rico in the '50s.
Depp became friends with Thompson while researching his role in Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. This should be a cool film too.
