No pets allowed at Kai Iwi Lakes/Taharoa Domain
The beautiful Kai Iwi Lakes/Taharoa Domain have proved popular over the last few weeks with a huge number of people visiting. The Kaipara District Council team jointly manage the area with Te Kuihi and Te Roroa, alongside Northland Regional Council and Department of Conservation, and together we work hard to ensure this precious place is protected, while still being enjoyed by many holidaymakers.
While most visitors respect the rules, a small number are not.
Some people are bringing their pets with them when they visit. Please remind your friends and family that dogs, or any pets (including cats, birds, ferrets, iguanas, you name it), are not allowed in the Kai Iwi Lakes/Taharoa Domain area. If you ignore this rule, you can be fined.
Please also remember that the speed limit on the roads in the Kai Iwi Lakes/Taharoa Domain is 30km.
