George is KDC's Manager, Bylaws Compliance (Service Delivery)
- January 29, 2026
Meet George
It’s been more than 30 years since I swapped life in Auckland for the peaceful charm of Otamatea, where my family has deep roots in Kaipara.
Having supported our communities as a volunteer firefighter for several years, I also bring my passion for service to the community working for Kaipara District Council, which I've done for the past 18 years.
In my current role as Manager, Bylaws Compliance (Service Delivery), I guide our communities through legislative compliance. Compliance is a fine balance between Council’s legal obligations under government legislation and pragmatism. It is a difficult role which often involves navigating disputes and providing education or advice.
I firmly believe that everyone has a right to enjoy their property, provided they understand that their neighbours have the same rights. I lead a team of like-minded, dedicated colleagues who take pride in making sure our community is protected from alcohol-related harm, maintaining food safety, safeguarding community assets from damage, and preventing environmental damage from unauthorised land use.
Integrity and respect are priorities for me, and important values I keep front of mind whenever I interact with our communities. If we say we’ll do something, we mean it, and we make sure it gets done.
