Meet Arthur

It’s been more than 30 years since I swapped life in Auckland for the peaceful charm of Otamatea, where my family has deep roots in Kaipara.

After more than 20 years building my planning career in the Whangārei and Waikato districts, I have returned home to bring my skills and experience back to the district I care about.

Kaipara District Council staff are calling on the community to support them to promote respect and inclusion this Pink Shirt Day – and beyond. 

I love living in Kaipara. My home looks out across the beautiful Kaipara Harbour from the Oneriri Peninsula. It’s a unique spot, with rich history and I feel privileged to call this place home.

I took a mighty gamble accepting a job straight out of university for a place I had never been before – but it was one of the best decisions by far.

Guided by the KDC staff values – mana, mahi tahi, pono, whakaute, mahia te mahi, I get to work with mana whenua, iwi, communities, schools, project managers and KDC staff to support them to fulfil their aspirations.

Born and raised in Kaipara, I have stretched my wings but Kaipara has always been my beacon home. 

I feel blessed to be a part of the building team, which is very hardworking, committed, and professional in their services, while being light-hearted and empathetic at the same time.

Kia ora, my name is Logan. Most days, you’ll find me at KDC’s Dargaville or Mangawhai reception.

I help people get to where they want to go by working alongside them to navigate regulations to set up and run their business. 

My role is to attract quality people who share our organisational values to come work at Council.

‘Council staff are part of Kaipara communities, and they deserve to be safe and respected at work’ are the key messages raised in a new campaign being released by Kaipara District Council.

I am so lucky that I meet and work alongside diverse and fabulous people who live, work and play in the Kaipara district and who are passionate about their communities and making this place the best it can be.
