There are 32 candidates vying for a seat around the Kaipara District Council table – four for mayor and 28 for councillor positions. Information about voting

Our local elections are being conducted by postal vote and there is no online option available. Voting opens Tuesday 9 September and closes at noon on Saturday 11 October. If you are enrolled and your details are up to date you can expect to receive your voting papers in the mail from 9 September.

If you enrolled or updated your address after 1 August 2025, you won’t get your voting papers sent to you in the mail. You’ll need to contact Kaipara District Council's electoral officer Dale Ofsoske on 09 973 5212, 0800 922 822, or email dale@electionservices.co.nz
