The wheels on the Mangawhai free summer bus recorded 6,286 individual trips this summer – the biggest season yet.

Kaipara District Council will soon be asking the community for feedback on proposed fees and charges for the coming year

The community of Kaipara will soon be asked for feedback on a way forward for the district’s water services.

At the 26 March 2025 council meeting, elected members approved the Proposed Kaipara District Plan, paving the way for it to proceed to public notification in late April.

The Kauri Coast Community Pool will receive funding from Kaipara District Council for another year, while staff investigate ownership options for the future.

I read with disappointment news of dog attacks in Northland recently, including the dog vs persons attack closer to home in Hakaru. Communities should be able to move around in safety and without fear.

A dry February has put the brakes on unsealed road maintenance, shifting our focus to wet roll grades.
