Working with our neighbouring councils to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes has my full support. 

One of my favourite things to do as mayor is welcome new New Zealand citizens to Kaipara. Every citizenship ceremony is a reminder of what makes our district unique.

I had another busy weekend recently hosting Hon. Mike Butterick, Associate Minister of Agriculture and Minister of Land Information.

One of the things I love most about our district is how our communities show up, at ANZAC Day services across the district, through community‑led projects.

Our Long Term Plan vision is clear: Kaipara – the place to be! At its heart is a strong and prosperous economy that creates opportunities for our people and our communities.

It’s been a busy few weeks across Northland, and I’m pleased to share some of the good work happening both in our district and around the region. 

The wet summer we have been experiencing has brought its share of challenges, but it has also delivered some real positives for our district. Water tanks and reservoirs remain comfortably topped up, our rivers are flowing at healthy levels, and the regular rainfall has supported an excellent growing season for our farmers.
