It’s been a busy few weeks across Northland, and I’m pleased to share some of the good work happening both in our district and around the region. 

The multi-year, multi-million-dollar Kaipara slip remediation programme has continued in full swing over the last twelve months.  

Over the summer period, our roading teams have been focussed on delivering this year’s reseal programme. 

As Mayor, it is my absolute privilege to welcome you to Kaipara this summer. Our district is a place of wide horizons, sparkling harbours and lakes, rolling countryside, vibrant communities, buzzing towns and stunning natural beauty. We are proud to share it with you.

In September, we kicked off pre-seals in preparation for the upcoming re-seal programme.

We’re taking voting on the road for the 2025 local elections

The roading team have completed 20 slips over the last nine months. Pahi Road (pictured) is well underway.

We have some major works happening on roads around the district this month.

Significant strides have been made to repair hundreds of slips and restore the Kaipara roading network.

A temporary health warning is in place for Kaiwaka and Otamatea rivers and the Kaipara Harbour by the Tinopai wharf after this week’s rains caused a wastewater spill from the Kaiwaka Wastewater Treatment Plant.
