Further submissions

Further submissions can be made on all topics except Part 2: District-wide Matters / General District-wide Matters / Light. The topic of Light was separately notified for further submissions on 21 October 2025, with that period closing on 4 November 2025, due to a scheduled hearing in December 2025. No more further submissions on the topic of Light will be accepted.

The following persons may make a further submission, in the prescribed form:

  • Any person or group representing a relevant aspect of the public interest;
  • Any person that has an interest in the PDP that is greater than the interest that the general public has;
  • The local authority.

A further submission may only express support or opposition to a matter raised in an original submission on the PDP. It must not raise new submission points. It must follow the format set out in Form 6 of the Resource Management Act 1991.

How to make a Further Submission

From 1 December to 5pm on Monday 15 December 2025, you can:

  • Save time! Complete our easy online Form 6, OR
  • Download a pdf version of Form 6, THEN
  • Email it to districtplanreview@kaipara.govt.nz 
  • Post it to: Planning and Policy Team, Kaipara District Council, Private Bag 1001, Dargaville 340
  • Deliver it to either Council office:  32 Hokianga Road, Dargaville or 6 Molesworth Drive, Mangawhai

All submissions received on the Proposed Kaipara District Plan (PDP) have now been summarised, and each submission point has been assigned a unique reference number. The Summary of Submissions are organised by submitter number.

Further Submissions Light

On Tuesday 21 October 2025, we notified a Summary of Submissions in relation to Part 2 – District-wide matters / General District-wide Matters / Light. The further submission period closed on 4 November 2025.

The Summary of Submissions relating to the Light topic is being notified ahead of all other submissions because a hearing on this topic is being held in December 2025.
