David Wills

I see an important part of my role as councillor as talking with local groups, getting their input and in turn providing updates on council progress.

The Kaipara Harbour and surrounds have been a big part of my life and I look forward to taking my turn as one of the custodians of this special place.

I have extensive business experience including CEO of a national food company winning awards for innovation and new product development. Later I was Northland Regional Manager leading one of the largest rural service teams in NZ. I am currently operating a farming business in Kaipara. I have received intensive leadership training in NZ and Australia. Active community service includes twelve years on school boards, coaching and managing youth sports teams and rugby referee.

I was born in Te Kopuru and grew up on the family farm at Mahuta Gap with the Tasman Sea on our back boundary.

I met my future wife, Megan, now a lawyer, at Pouto Point – and now Megan and I have our own place down on the harbour.

I see an important part of my role as councillor as talking with local groups, getting their input and in turn providing updates on council progress.

I am excited to be part of a forward looking council that wants to enhance the lives of all members of our Kaipara community.
