The mangawhai carpark is upgraded-it probably could have signs saying no graffiti on the benches as now i am quite old and i dont fancy people who graffiti-i think they need to be pulles up very sharp and have to do a punishment like scrubbing all the graffiti and benches for a few days-it might teach themthanx it does look very good at the moment

That carpark was an absolout waste of time if you ask me you could have kept the old one and just got a new toilet block because the old toilets were disgustinly filthy-mangawhai beach is not a very clean place and it was a waste of time and money just to put a new carpark at that beach-i am in a very bad mood tonite so look out if you ask me any more stupid questions like this!!

I cannot help but feel that the carpark is completely over the top for a community the size of Mangawhai. Granted the toilet block needed replacing and the new one is great. However the carpark only needed a bit of organisation to it and as for the ridiculous walkway to the beach of half-rounds chained together - have you tried walking down it - hopeless. I shudder to think of the total cost of this work when so many other things are needed more urgently in this area - concrete footpaths for instance.

My husband and I would like to express our delight and gratitude for the amazing facilities and overall design concept for the Mangawhai Surf Beach Reserve. For us locals it is an absolute delight to use the new facilites, and I am proud of the design when I see international tourists at our beach. Thanks for running with a design project.

It is hoped to have the re-development finished when the reserve re-opens on 15 December 2008 but if weather or other factors delay work on the project it will not re-start until 1 March 2009 to ensure that summer enjoyment of the beach is not affected.
