Council Meetings: June 2010

Pursuant to Section 46 (1) of the Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act 1987, the following meetings have been set down for the month of June2010 and are open to the public.

Committee meetings and workshops are subject to change. For confirmation of particular meetings or further information contact the Dargaville office.

Wednesday 9 June 9.00 am: Extraordinary Council Meeting Adoption of Annual Plan 2010/2011 and Fees and charges 2010/2011. This is followed by Council's Proposed District Plan Hearings. Venue: Council Chambers, Station Road entrance, Dargaville

Friday 25 June 10.00 am Workshop 1.00 pm Council Meeting Venue: Council Committee Room, Station Road entrance, Dargaville

Tuesdays (various venues) 1.00 pm Judicial Committee will meet each Tuesday subject to sufficient business being available to transact. For further information contact the Dargaville office.

Kaipara District Council

Open Fire Season

Due to the recent rain the previously advertised Prohibited Fire Season for areas under the Kaipara District Council control is lifted and an Open Fire Season operates with immediate effect from midnight 30 April 2010.

Ratepayers, residents and visitors are reminded that all fires must be attended at all times and a continuous supply of water provided to extinguish the fire should it go out of control or if the weather conditions change. A clear area of at least 10 metres must surround the fire, the fire must not be left unattended, not contain any noxious material and not be lit in any strong wind. Please ensure you do not annoy any neighbours.

Please note that the Department of Conservation has a year round Restricted Fire Season in place for their conservation estate and fire permits are required within 1km of any Department of Conservation land. Please contact the nearest Department of Conservation office if permits are sought.
