Kaipara's economy is based around pastoral farming and to a lesser extent horticulture and forestry. Its rural nature, especially in the inland parts, is one of the charms residents are keen to preserve. The Council works to ensure that the voice of Kaipara is heard and will support new businesses into the area. Detailed information can be found in the District Plan.
